Traskandan kartano

Traskanda Manor was founded in the end of the 18th century. The most famous owner of the manor has been Ms.Aurora Karamzin who bought the manor in 1840. The old main building was destroyed by fire in 1888, and the present main building was built in 1920-1921 in the architectural style of Swedish Neoclassicism.

The granary and the arbor were built in the 1820s, and they were designed by Carl Engel. The well-known surrounding park was created in 1820-1840s, and the current appearance dates from the end of the 19th century. The building in the last photo is a Royal Toilet, and it was built in the 1860s for the visit of the Russian Emperor. The manor is used as a residential home for the elderly since 1924.
